What a boiler service covers.
Every service we carry out in Whitchurch follows the same checklist, whichever make of boiler you have. It is the same thorough boiler servicing we do across the area.
Visual inspection
We check the boiler, the flue and the pipework for signs of leaks, corrosion, damage or overheating, and make sure the boiler has the clearances and ventilation it needs.
Key parts cleaned
Where the manufacturer calls for it, we open the boiler up and clean essential components such as the burner, the heat exchanger and the condensate trap.
Gas and flue tested
We test the gas pressure and check the flue gases with an analyser to confirm the boiler is burning cleanly and venting safely, which also reduces the risk of carbon monoxide.
Controls and safety devices
Thermostat, timer, pressure relief valve and safety devices are tested, so the boiler responds as it should and shuts down safely if something goes wrong.
Pressure and expansion vessel
We check the system pressure and the expansion vessel, the usual culprits when a heating system keeps losing pressure between services.
Findings in plain terms
You get a clear explanation of what we found and any follow-up work we recommend, with no pressure to go ahead. If a part needs replacing, we can quote for the repair.
Your boiler service in three steps.
-
Step 1: Book a time
Tell us the make and rough age of the boiler and when it was last serviced. We arrange a time that suits you, or your tenant.
-
Step 2: The service
We work through the checklist above, clean and test the boiler, and check the flue, the controls and the pressure of the heating system.
-
Step 3: Your record
You get a record of the service for the warranty and your own paperwork, and for rented homes the landlord gas safety certificate where one is needed.
Tell us about the boiler and the property and we will confirm the cost before booking you in. Quotations are free, with no obligation.
